Dismissed or cleared (erased) search silently filters the view when switching between Open / Actionable / Closed tabs

Somewhat related to #1243: in the current git master version:

1. Ctrl+F
2. Search for something that ends up filtering the view
3. Press Esc to dismiss the search; the view becomes unfiltered again
4. Switch to another view mode tab (ex: from "Open" to "Actionable")

Result: the view is silently filtered by the search term even though the search mode is disabled. Doing Ctrl+F again reveals what's going on behind the scenes, and pressing Esc to dismiss that search view unfilters that tab's view again.

There is also a variant of this bug when you clear the contents of the search field (ex: by clicking the clear button), without necessarily dismissing the searchbar, as you can see in this video:
