Feature request: Add option to sticky image pop-up

Please add an option to make the image pop-up sticky. This would eliminate the need to keep a mouse+keyboard shortcut combo pressed or the mouse cursor hovering over the image.

This would allow for a relaxed viewing experience and convenient usage of the additional features like image flip, rotate, etc., with both hands free to enter the keyboard shortcuts for these additional features.

PhotoShow was designed to provide a quick, in-and-out experience, aiming not to interfere with the original interaction flow of the websites you visit. That’s why a “sticky” view mode wasn’t prioritized.

However, it is also in the plans and will be added in the future, giving users the choice to enable it if they prefer.

You can install Imagus / Imagus Mod. Judging by the content of your query, this corresponds to Zoom Mode in Imagus. It gives you the ability to freely zoom (+/-) any point in an image or video, rotate, save content, control the video player and so on. All questions can be asked in the Imagus community on Reddit (type “Imagus Reddit” into your browser).

oh, i was looking for a imagus alternative and i liked photoshow very much, but this is my most used feature, to zoom the image or even watch videos.

i will keep tracking this extension in case this changes in the future.

Just in case you haven’t noticed — if you use mouse hover along with a trigger key to open the image viewer, a recently added option might be helpful. It works somewhat like the “sticky” feature that hasn’t been introduced yet.

Trigger key action:

Since update 4.80.0, a new option called “Trigger key action” has been added. It lets you choose how you’d like to interact with the trigger key you’ve set.

With the “Press only (toggle)” option selected, you no longer need to hold down the trigger key to keep the viewer displayed. Instead, a single press will do the job — the viewer will remain visible until you press the trigger key again or move your mouse away from the thumbnail.

You can find this setting on PhotoShow’s Options page under Thumbnail Interaction → Viewer Trigger.

Thanks for hinting at the "trigger key action" function. That's really close to a true sticky feature. 😊👍

When visiting the extension settings to activate the "trigger key action" function, I noticed the image flip and rotate functions for the first time and tried them all out. The small animation for each flip/rotate action is quite neat.

Why isn't there a zoom in/out feature yet? I hope you have this on your roadmap somewhere. 😀

Absolutely, it's part of the "sticky" feature package so likely will be delivered together.

Thats wonderful news, i already started to use and, other than the sticky zoom feature, i like it more than imagus, keep the good work!
